FakeEats ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. The short version: we never ask for your name, email, or account — but the game's social features (leaderboards, streaks, leagues) run on our servers, and this page explains exactly what that involves.
When you use the delivery tracking experience, we may ask for permission to use your device's location. We use location only to show your position on the in-app delivery map during the simulation. GPS location is used in real time on your device and is not stored by us and not sent to our servers or to analytics. If you deny permission, the map still works using a default area.
Like most internet services, our servers see your IP address when the app talks to them and derive a country-level region from it. Separately, your device's timezone setting (e.g. "America/New York") gives us an approximate city. This is coarse by construction — we never collect or store GPS coordinates, street addresses, or anything more precise than a timezone city and a country.
Usage Data: We collect usage statistics tied to a randomly generated device identifier (not your name or email), including:
Data You Provide:
Journal entries and mood notes stay on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
FakeEats has public leaderboards (The Arena) and weekly leagues. If you appear on a leaderboard, other players can see:
If you'd like your entry removed from public leaderboards, email us and we'll take care of it.
With your permission, we send push notifications (delivery updates, streak reminders, and similar). To do this we store your device's push token and timezone on our servers so reminders arrive at a reasonable local hour. You can turn notifications off anytime in your device Settings, which invalidates the token.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. There are no third-party ads in FakeEats.
Journal entries and mood notes are stored locally on your device. Gameplay stats (streaks, victories, XP) and pseudonymous usage events are stored on our servers, hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure, keyed to a random device identifier. We do not maintain user accounts and never store your name, email, or contact details — we never ask for them in the first place.
We use the following services to run FakeEats:
Data on your device remains until you delete the app or use the in-app reset. Server-side gameplay stats and usage events are retained while we operate the service so that leaderboards and streaks keep working; analytics data is retained for up to 24 months. You can request deletion of your server-side data at any time (see Your Rights).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
